Kal takes the cake!

Our dear little Kal is already one! We cannot believe it. We celebrated his birthday a couple weeks early with family while we were still in Utah. His actual birthday is September 11. Below are the photos and short videos of his experience with his first birthday cake. He started a little slow, but got some help and was then armed with a spoon (poor cake). Squishing the frosting seemed to be the most enjoyable part of the experience for him. You can tell he is just such a mellow kid. We sure love our sweet boy!

After watching what happened to the cake, you may understand why we opted to eat these instead.

All of us, anyway, except the brave Grannie Tannie!

Only a grandma would do that....yuck! (It isnt' really as bad as it looks, but all the colors you used for the cake look a little too gross for me).

Wow, it looks like you had a great time in Costa Rica...apparently I forgot to ask you about your trip, maybe another phone conversation!

Good thing you stripped him down to his diaper BEFORE you let him at the cake! (We weren't quite as smart when Cameron turned 1- let's just say: Lesson Learned!) That looks like too much fun!

His party was a lot of fun! I can't believe the time has flown by so quickly! We sure love that little guy and the rest of his family.

Hey, it's the Skidmore's from Lone Pine. We just found your blog from the Viewmont Class Blog. It's fun to see what you guys have been up to. Aaron is applying to a bunch of CRNA schools back east---who knows maybe we'll end up being close you guys in Ohio.
