I tell Jocelyn that she is growing up too fast. She scowls at me and informs me that she has to because she wants to be a mom. I tell her she will be one day, and she'll be a great mom, but for now she can just be my little Angel Princess. Not satisfied, she always disagrees and doesn't want to wait to be a mom.
All day today, Jocelyn told me about "Cassie" and "Journey" and older sister and brother she had when she was a "teeny, tiny baby grill." She went into a lot of detail about how they both grew up to be parents and grandparents. It was quite interesting.
Then she became Kal's mom. She called him "son" all morning and wanted him to obey her. She wiped his face, but wanted me to get his "bogers." I got a lot of insight today.
Later, she typed on the computer. She sees me do homework sometimes and occasional emails or paying bills. Some of you got IMs from her (if you happened to be online when we were). She had a blast being a mom today.
In the tub tonight Jos was wiping the sides with a washcloth. Then, as she slung the cloth over her shoulder, she stated, "I look like a mom, amn't I. I am washing everything."
Then as I put her to bed, she gently put her hands on my cheeks and said, "Mom, you are so beautiful." What a precious angel. She'll be a great mom!!

Excuses, excuses . . .

Jocelyn and Kal have both been sick, so we have been stuck at home for a few days. They like to irritate each other when they haven't had their own space. At lunch today, Kal was bugging Jocelyn. She tattled and I asked her to just eat her lunch. She replied, "I can't. Kal is making me hard of eating!"
Last night at dinner, Jocelyn didn't want to eat. I told her she needed to eat if she wanted to get better. She replied, "Well, the king in Shrek didn't want to eat." Oh, well in that case . . .

Would you like some milk with that?

Jocelyn's primary teacher has been giving glowing reports about how well she has been doing in class. The Primary secretary, however, is one of my good friends. She was over today and told me how funny Jocelyn is during sharing time. Apparently, she "makes cookies" and stands up to pass them out to everyone during the lesson and singing time. She even makes her way up to the presidency and sits on the stand with them, making more cookies to pass out. I had to laugh. Unfortunately, Jocelyn was there when my friend told me and she saw both of us laughing. Jos was pretty proud of herself. I told her how nice it was to make cookies for everyone, and she could make them in her seat, but she needed to wait until after church to pass them out. She agreed to that. We'll see . . .

Funny Jocelyn
Our little Goose is really a silly goose. She says some really smart things and really surprises us with her good nature and desire to help. She sometimes seems a little too grown up for a 3 year old!
I was at Target looking for maternity pants. There is not much of a selection here, so I went over to the fitting rooms to ask if there were more somewhere. Two employees were talking and I just waited for a minute. Jocelyn, however, finished waiting before they finished talking. She blurted out, "I need some jeans!"
One employee left with a grin, a man nearby walked away because he was cracking up, and the kind employee just replied, "Well, what size do you need, Sweety?"
To which Jocelyn informed her, "I don't need jeans, I already have some! My mom needs some!"
The lady then asked, "What size does she need?"
Jocelyn answered, "She has a baby in her tummy, so big and stretchy!" She cracks me up. All I could do was smile.
We had chocolate milk with our dinner last night. I just made some in a pitcher and we drank it until it was almost gone. Jocelyn poured the last bit into her cup. Brandon thought he would give her a hard time and said that he wanted some. So, she offered to give her's to him. Not expecting that offer, he quickly declined and told her he was just teasing her. When he didn't want her's, she handed the empty pitcher to me and asked me to make more chocolate milk for Dad. He reassured her that he really didn't need any more. She quickly took a drink of her milk and dumped the rest back into the pitcher. She told Brandon she was all finished and now there was some for him. He tried to get her to drink it, but she declined and informed him she was finished and didn't want any more. So, he finally gave in and thanked her for sharing and drank it. What a thoughtful little girl! She got some big hugs and smiles for being so thoughtful and giving. Gold stars for Joc!!
We were invited to spend Christmas Eve and Bishop Watkins' house. I will post more about that later, but here is a short video of Jocelyn doing the Hokey Pokey. This helps me remember how old she really is! She is so fun and so cute. We just love her!!
